The Purple Sage x Whelma Jet cross is amazing! A full brother to this bull, Purple Jet, placed 2nd in the Horn Showcase, missing 1st place by 5/8"! Another 2005 full brother, Sage's Reflection, now owned by Dakota Longhorns, Worthing SD, has tremendous horns, size and color and he placed 2nd in his class at the 2006 Horn Showcase behind a Mosser bull.
Sure Thing's 2006 full sister is named Mirror Image who has wonderful size and conformation as well as great horn growth. She is the "Mirror Image" of her mother at the same age.
This bull is starting out as good as his brothers. He is head and shoulders above the other calves and is extremely gentle. His horns are popping out and he is beginning to roan, as all Purple Sage calves do. If past history and genetics have anything to do with it, this is a "Sure Thing" for a herd sire.
